One of my bed design theory is to match the original as much as my skill allow. So I build the skirt before the tandem wheels of the bed to match the bottom height of the original front fairing. This allows the continuous looks from the front to rear. I like to but did not match the indentation detail of the original side fairing to the bed due to my lack of metal skill and the time required to pull it off. May be some paint stripping will creates the looks I am looking for in the future.

In order to avoid the “thick” look at the rear of the bed. I tapped up the rear end from the sides; it gives a lighter and elegant look from the rear view. The benefit of the tap up is proved later; on added ground clearance at the rear of the truck.
